Liberty, liberty! is a play that reflects a certain Portuguese reality between the 1940s and 60s. The political country of Salazar and his  New State, the political imprisonments, the tensions and conflicts between prisoners, guards and relatives.

The arrest of three men in different circumstances, but by the same political mechanism, will bring them together in the same prison cell: a communist activist, a Catholic Student and a naïve worker.

 

With pressure and support from families, tensions with guards and conflicts among the three prisoners, they prepare an escape from jail, ending with either death or freedom.
